WHEELUV™ ALLOY WHEEL PROTECTOR SET
Highly engineered, injection moulded alloy wheel protector set. WHEELUV™ is a patented, cost effective and impact resistant wheel protection system that can handle a rough ride. Professional Installation is recommended so that you have the peace of mind your protectors have been installed correctly.
WHEELUV™ alloy protection can be fitted to most wheels, including run flat tyres and diamond cut alloys. However, there are four things you should double check before confirming WHEELUV™ is compatible with your alloys:
1. WIDTH OF ALLOY RIM
2. RECESSES OR SPOKES IN ALLOY RIM
3. DAMAGE ON ALLOY
4. ENSURING PAINT LACQEUR HAS CURED
WIDTH OF ALLOY RIM
For WHEELUV™ to be compatible with your alloy, the rim needs to be flat or slightly curved. This is so that at least 50% the width of the protector is in contact with the rim. You can check this by measuring the flat surface of your alloy rim and making sure it is at least 4 millimetres.
RECESSES OR SPOKES IN ALLOY RIM
Some wheels have recesses in the alloy rim, such as in the photo to the right. These need to make up no more than 90% of the alloy circumference for WHEELUV™ to be fitted.
Another feature to check for are spokes. If any spokes protrude from the alloy rim, meaning the rim surface isn’t flat, then WHEELUV™ shouldn’t be fitted.
MAJOR DAMAGE TO ALLOY
If there is major damage to your alloy rim we recommend getting them refurbished before having WHEELUV™ fitted. This is so there is enough rim surface for the alloy protector to bond to. The good news WHEELUV™ will help prevent damage like this happening in the future.
LACQUER CURE TIME
For wheels which has been recently painted, the lacquer needs to be fully cured before the protectors are fitting.
For powder coated wheels, WHEELUV™ can be fitted immediately as there is no cure time.
